BIPOC Council Managing Director (Part Time)

The BIPOC Intentional Community Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Managing Director to lead and oversee the organization’s mission of supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in finding and founding intentional communities worldwide. The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall management of the organization and will work closely with the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for land based movements and strengths in both operations and project management. The role is contract (1099) and part time (up to 10 hours a month) paying $30/hr. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of programs and events, including the annual grant program for BIPOC-led projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members, partners, donors, and other stakeholders to promote the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Create and implement marketing and outreach strategies to communicate the organization’s impact and goals to the wider community.
  • Serve as the organization’s spokesperson, representing the organization to stakeholders, partners, and the community.
  • Manage the Council’s budget and finances, ensuring fiscal sustainability of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in nonprofit management, including fundraising and grant writing.
  • Knowledge of and experience in financial management and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful programs and initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience or interest in the intentional communities movement.
  • Experience working with and advocating for BIPOC communities is strongly preferred.
